Bev – “Bev House”

I am completely bowled over by “Bev House”. When you listen to this EP, you are getting into Bev’s transition from hip-hop and R&B to house music and it is quite an interesting one. The Kaytranada influence is definitely there, but Bev’s brought his own flavor to the table, crafting something that feels both familiar and fresh.
Recorded at the Noir Room in Vegas with Headupp on production and Matute handling engineering duties, the technical quality is top-tier throughout. You can hear how free Bev felt during the creation of the EP, there is a sense of happiness that runs through each song that is impossible to ignore. It’s safe to say it’s one of the best EPs I’ve heard this week so far.
I love how this EP bridges Bev’s musical past with this new direction. You can hear a little of his rap background in the four-on-the-floor beats, but it is not overpowering and is very original. The flow from one track to another is seamless, which makes the entire EP more of a single piece rather than a set of songs.
This November 2024 release shows Bev isn’t afraid to step outside his comfort zone, and the risk absolutely pays off. You will find yourself coming back to these tracks when you want something that is perfect for relaxation and when you’re ready to move.
This EP deserves all the attention it is getting as Bev has made something special that shows his growth as an artist while still keeping it real, and you should follow him on all social media platforms to see what is going to be an interesting musical journey because “Bev House” is an EP that should be shared with everyone who loves good music.
