Bailey Grey – “Love It All”
Bailey Grey released her first full album Love It All, and I really enjoyed listening to it. She’s from New Jersey and spent a lot of time doing musical theater, but this album is different because she’s finally writing about her own life instead of playing characters on stage.
The album jumps around between indie-pop, jazz, alternative rock, and blues. She’s basically trying to capture this feeling of accepting everything that happens in life, the wins and the losses. The title track talks about wanting to love all of it, and then each song after that explores different emotions and experiences.
Battle Cry really got to me with the harmonica in it, and it’s about feeling alone when you’re trying to fit in with everyone else. Use Me is interesting because it takes death and makes it feel less heavy, and apparently, a mother contacted Bailey to use it at her son’s ceremony after he died young. Get Lost has some really soulful singing, Nothing goes harder with more rock vibes, and When I Fall has this sweet ukulele part on a song she originally wrote a while back but changed up recently. Easy is the last song and it’s just her with an acoustic guitar, and it’s my favorite.
Bailey made the album with producer Sam Cook-Stuntz. Go listen to her other stuff if you like this one. Follow Bailey Grey on social media to see when she releases more music.
