heavy wild – “freeze2death”

London rock group heavy wild have a new single out called “freeze2death” ahead of their next EP, Paradise Forever, coming October 14th on Submarine Cat Records. The song moves quickly with a fast lo-fi energy, loud rhythm, noisy guitars, and hazy background lines. The vocals start out quiet before turning wild near the end.

Songwriter Wolfgang Harte wrote this track as a continuation of their older song “Dope Gods”. It looks at how friendships change as people grow older and move in different directions. That real feeling of growing up gives the track its main focus.

The music video, made with director Bobbie Mercury, captures that same feeling. It focuses on the boredom and frustration of small-town alt kids who feel like outsiders and build close groups because they only have each other. The clothing worn in the clip comes from .NET, a brand that gives its profits to homeless charities in Sheffield.
