Chloe Jessica – “Bitch in a Dress”
Chloe Jessica’s “Bitch in a Dress” has the kind of energy that grabs you right away. There is a sarcastic streak running through it that gives the song some real character, and that suits the whole female empowerment angle really well. It sounds built for those messy, angry moments when you want a song that backs you up rather than smooths everything over. The rising artist impressed me with her unique and rich voice.
I can hear the influence of artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Kelly Clarkson in the setup, but Chloe still comes off like herself. That mix of pop, rock, country, blues, and R&B in her wider sound gives this single a bit more personality than you get from a lot of new releases trying to land the same emotional punch. The fact that she worked on it from a bedroom writing idea into a full band track also gives it a grounded, lived in quality that fits the song’s mood.
There is also something exciting about hearing an artist this early in her run sound this sure of herself. As a second single, it gives a strong sense that Chloe knows exactly where she wants to go, and that confidence matters. I really enjoyed this one, and I think it has the kind of fire that sticks with you after it ends. Go check out her earlier single “The Middle“, keep up with what she does next, and give her a follow.
