Aner Andros – “The Chakra Symphony”

Italian musician Aner Andros put out his album The Chakra Symphony. Recorded at La Strada Recording Studio in Rome, the project brings together a group of players who mix acoustic instruments with modern recording gear. Members of the ensemble include Gaia Possenti on piano, Chiara Santoro on symphonic harp, and Marina De Sanctis on vocals.

The record contains eight movements. It opens with “Muladhara” for the root chakra and finishes with a piano-driven piece titled “A New World”. Each track matches a different energy point in the body. Andros uses low tones, crystal bowls, harps, analog synthesizers, and fretless bass to build the sound world.

The acoustic details sound great. Hearing the didgeridoo mixed with Tibetan bowls and guitars gives the tracks room to breathe without getting too loud. The band plays tight, and the audio engineering captures every little vibration from the gongs. It fits nicely when you want to focus or just sit down and relax at home.
