Andrea Pizzo x The Purple Mice – “Come Out Lazarus 2 – Ineffability”
Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice put out “Come Out Lazarus 2 – Ineffability”, and I’ll be honest, I didn’t fully get it on the first listen. Not in a bad way, it just took a second to click.
It’s part of a bigger story they’re building, and this time you’re inside a near-death experience instead of watching it happen. That shift actually makes a difference. It’s more personal, almost like you’re drifting along with it rather than trying to follow a plot.
The pace is slow, but not boring. It kind of floats, and I found myself zoning out in a good way, then snapping back in when something small changed. It’s one of those tracks where not much “happens” on the surface, but you still stay with it. I also like that they didn’t stick with the same sound as before. Going in a more electronic and laid-back direction fits the idea better. It would’ve been easy to repeat the earlier style, but this feels more thought out.
I ended up replaying it later that day, which is usually my sign that something worked, even if I can’t fully explain why. If you like artists who build things over time instead of one-off songs, keep an eye on them. Follow Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice on social media to see what else they put out this year.
