Terrell Journey – “A Journey Digital Christmas Vol 1”

Terrell Journey’s new holiday EP is rich, unique, and refreshing. A Journey Digital Christmas Vol. 1 actually acknowledges how messy and stressful the holidays can be for a lot of people, and my favorite track is “Christmas Pajamas”.

Most Christmas albums pile on the fake cheer, but Terrell went a different route. He made an EP that sounds honest about what December really looks like when you’re dealing with actual life problems alongside all the festive expectations. The Atlanta artist already put out solid projects like Headaches & Heartaches Vol I and The Adventures of Journey McFly, and he brought that same approach to holiday music. He didn’t water down his style just because he was making a Christmas record. The tracks tackle real December struggles alongside the usual seasonal moments, which makes them easier to connect with.

You won’t find generic songs about snowmen and hot cocoa here. Terrell gave space to the harder emotions people deal with this time of year, and that makes the EP stand out from the endless stream of cheerful holiday music flooding streaming platforms every winter.
