JESUS THE APOLLO – “THE MOON MAN!”

Good Sunday morning! I hope you’re winding down your weekend well. JESUS THE APOLLO just released “THE MOON MAN!” and I’m really into it. The Manchester artist went for an 80s Halloween pop sound, and it actually works pretty well. You get that old-school pop vibe but it doesn’t sound dated at all.

The song is basically a conversation between the moon and the sun, talking about energy exchange and spiritual stuff. Sounds weird on paper, but when you actually hear it, it clicks. Hunter Fortune did the instrumental, and JESUS THE APOLLO teamed up with a featured artist who came up with the main chorus melody, and you can tell they were all on the same page because everything fits together nicely.

They pulled from Apollo esoteric texts and Gnostic philosophy and somehow made it into a pop song that doesn’t bore you with lectures. The production is dark but also a bit quirky, which captures that Halloween 2023 vibe when they wrote it. The vocals have character and you can tell the artist believes in the message.
