Teika & The Raw Beat – “Bones’n’Stones”

Just had my mind blown by this new album from Teika & The Raw Beat titled “Bones’n’Stones” and I gotta tell you, this is exactly the kind of stuff we need more of right now.

The Berlin-based crew headed by Mateja Kert brings something that is both super raw and super polished at the same time. Her voice is something else, sometimes it’s this powerful roar, and other times it’s just a whisper that somehow cuts right through you. I’m getting huge Kate Bush and Björk vibes, but there’s something completely unique going on here as well.

I love how the album takes you on this trip through all these dark, moody places but never feels depressing. “Falling In Love” comes like a truck with its epic ballad feel, and “Ragged Plumes” has this urgency that perfectly describes how crazy the world is right now. I’ve been playing this on repeat since I got my hands on it last week. “Angel at My Door” is probably my favorite track at the moment, but to be honest, the whole album flows so well from beginning to end.

If you are looking for something that is going to make you feel things and take you somewhere else for a little while, this is it. Follow Teika & The Raw Beat on social media to stay updated on what is bound to be an incredible journey for this band.
