Our Bones – “cash considerations”

Our Bones from the Hudson Valley released their album “cash considerations” on November 25, 2025 and I adore it. Benjamin Durland did most of the heavy lifting here, writing and recording the bulk of it himself, though other band members came in later to help polish things up.

The songs on this album were written over ten years, starting with “dead bird” back in 2015 and ending with “sick, sad & insane” from late 2024. You can hear that timeline in how the record moves between addiction, mental health struggles, betrayal, and eventually finding ways to accept yourself. The opener “no home” talks about finally putting down the things that hurt you, and “practice for today” gets real about how we convince ourselves that grinding for a paycheck is fine, even when it clearly isn’t.

I really love how the songs can hit hard when they need to but never lose sight of the actual emotions underneath. They recorded everything at The Studio at Old Ridge in Warwick, NY, a space that’s been part of their story since the beginning. Follow Our Bones on social media if you want to stay in the loop about new music and their planned 2026 tour.
