Leo XIV – “Feel”
Leo XIV released his second single, “Feel”, following up his debut, “Midas”. This new one keeps things pretty stripped down, but it doesn’t feel empty. There’s a tight acid bass loop that rings through the track, and it sort of anchors the whole thing. It’s simple but really sticks, and everything else like the synths, the vocals, and the beat slides in around it without getting messy.
The song moves with a danceable pace, but it’s not trying to be a club track, and it’s got this moody energy, but it still feels easy to get into. It’s not trying too hard to impress, which honestly makes it easier to keep on repeat. What gives it more depth is knowing where Leo was at when he made it. This track basically snapped him out of a long period of not creating. That time was shaped by anxiety, depression, and addiction. That kind of backstory can sometimes feel heavy, but here it gives the track a kind of clarity. You can tell it came from a real place, and it’s cool to hear that without it needing to be super dramatic or spelled out in the lyrics.
“Feel” doesn’t try to do too much. It finds its sound early and stays in it, which actually works in its favor. There’s a confidence in how straightforward it is. It’s one of those songs that sounds better the second or third time around because you start to catch what it’s really doing.
If you haven’t heard his first single “Midas”, give that one a listen too. It shows a different side. And with his first album, “Cold Open,” coming early next year, it’s a good time to keep an eye on where he’s headed. Follow Leo XIV on social media so you don’t miss what’s coming next.
