Julyssa – “goodtimes & sadtimes”

There’s something effortlessly real about Julyssa’s debut EP, “goodtimes & sadtimes”. Created in the quiet of her own bedroom in Philly, the EP feels like catching up with a friend you haven’t seen in years, the kind of conversation that starts with laughter and ends in shared silence. This Ep is just impressive and deserves your attention to the last second.

The title nails it. These tracks swing between nostalgia and release, pulling from the kind of experiences most people keep tucked away. Julyssa doesn’t package her emotions in shiny wrapping. She lays them out with clarity and intention. Her vocals, soft but sure, add another layer of intimacy to the project. And to be honest, my favorite track is “face to face”.

Knowing this is her first real dive into music makes the EP even more worth the spin. There’s a clear sense she made this for herself first, and that’s probably why it lands as hard as it does. It’s a quiet reminder that reflection isn’t weakness and letting go doesn’t erase the good that came before.

Keep an eye on Julyssa. Follow her on social media to stay updated on new releases throughout the rest of 2025.
