Israell – “Dice Are Rolling…”
Montreal artist Israell released a radio remix of his song “Dice Are Rolling…” and it is a genuinely gripping piece of music. Recorded at Studio Loco, this reworked single brings a whole new depth to the original track by stacking up heavy vocal layers and fresh instrumentation. You can tell a massive amount of effort went into this version. The vocal production alone took an entire year, with producer Pedro “PG” Lomba pushing the lead vocals into a higher pitch and adding dense background harmonies and ad-libs.
The resulting sound is a completely original blend of rock’n’roll, country-rock, and classic 80s styles mixed with a modern edge. Israell co-produced the instrumental with guitarist Nik Liubenchuk, and the rhythm section gets a massive boost from Montreal drum teacher Connor Robinson. The track was mixed by Blake Eiseman and mastered by Thomas Cassell at Sage Audio, giving the whole production a sharp, professional finish.
The lyrics deal with resilience and outplaying the game. Lines like “Dice are rolling all over the map / Up to you guys to do the math” capture a feeling of taking control of your own path and beating the odds. The vocal setup balances a pop sensibility on the main line with deep, soulful ad-libs and rock-inflected low harmonies. It stands out immediately because it refuses to conform to standard playlist formats.
I absolutely love this release. Israell has built a beautiful piece of art that rewards multiple listens. It is incredibly refreshing to hear an independent artist protect their creative integrity instead of chasing an algorithm. You should definitely go back and check out the previous releases from Israell to see how this sound has grown over the years. Make sure you follow Israell on your favorite streaming platforms to stay updated on everything else coming in the rest of this year.
