CARUS – “Wisch Wisch”
I gave CARUS’ new single Wisch Wisch a listen, and I’ve got to say, it leaves a good impression. CARUS is the project of Claudia Carus, who has a background in theater and coaching, and now she’s putting out music that doesn’t hold back. Wisch Wisch is her first official release under this name, and it’s one of those songs that you can tell means something to the artist.
This isn’t a feel-good pop track or something made for background listening. It’s a pretty straightforward expression of frustration with the way we avoid things, whether that’s personal stuff or bigger societal issues. The song revolves around how easy it is to just swipe things away and pretend they’re not there. I think most people can relate to that. Whether it’s the news, relationship issues, or even your own thoughts, it’s tempting to look the other way.
The song is stripped down in a good way. It sounds tense, but not messy. You can hear the emotion, and that helps everything hit harder. There’s this energy behind it that makes you feel like it’s pushing back against the idea of staying quiet or keeping things smooth for the sake of comfort.
Knowing Claudia also works as a mental coach kind of explains why the song digs into the self-care conversation. It’s not against the idea of taking care of yourself, but it does point out how that can easily become avoidance. That part really worked for me because it doesn’t feel preachy, it just feels honest. The message is more about staying open to what’s going on, both inside and outside.
If Wisch Wisch caught your attention, check out more of CARUS’ work, her upcoming album “Alles Glitzer Glitzer” looks like it’s going to cover even more personal and social territory, and it’s shaping up to be something worth following. Make sure to follow CARUS on social media so you don’t miss anything new.
