Blackfoot Daisy – “Bizarre Love Triangle”

Good Sunday evening! Blackfoot Daisy is a three-piece Americana band from Clarkston, Georgia, and their take on “Bizarre Love Triangle” gives the New Order classic a completely different mood, and instead of the glossy 80s sound most people remember, they rebuild it with ukulele, violin, warm hand percussion, bass, and layered vocal harmonies, which immediately makes it feel closer and more personal.

This release draws inspiration from Frente!’s 90s interpretation that meant a lot to Wendy DuMond, and you can sense that connection in how gently everything unfolds, and the trio let the arrangement breathe while staying grounded in their folk roots, and to be honest, it’s the best song I heard today.

Since it was released on Valentine’s Day, the timing makes sense, but the track does more than match the date, and it brings out the complicated emotions at the center of the song in a way that feels honest and lived-in, rather than simply revisiting a classic for the sake of it. If you’re into indie folk covers that reshape familiar songs with personality and care, take some time to explore Blackfoot Daisy’s other releases and see how they continue building their sound.

Make sure you follow Blackfoot Daisy on social media so you can keep up with whatever they share next.
