Last Relapse – “Last Relapse”

After thirteen years away, Atlanta indie-rock band Last Relapse is back with a five-song EP that finishes the work they left behind. The band played over 200 shows between 2006 and 2012, building a loyal following before life took the members in different directions. Now in their early thirties, they’ve reunited to complete songs that have been stuck in their heads for more than a decade.

The lead single “Everyone Dances Outside of Their Bodies” was something they used to play live but never released. The EP has the same raw honesty and dream-tinged guitar work that got people to their shows back then, plus a rhythm section that keeps everything moving. Vocalist-guitarist David Holding talks about these songs as ghosts that wouldn’t stop haunting him, and you can tell these tracks have been waiting to get out for a long time.

The band sounds more experienced now than they did as younger musicians. They’ve grown up without losing the intensity that got people paying attention in the first place. Coming back after this long and actually sounding good is harder than it looks, but they’ve done it. Follow Last Relapse on their other socials to keep up with whatever they release next in 2025.
