BEKA BARZ – “Wannabe”

BEKA BARZ’s latest “Wannabe” is catchy, personal, unique, and has a real story behind it that makes you want to hear it till the last second. The idea came from a rough experience when her first boyfriend cheated on her with a friend, she turned it into something creative. What’s cool is that she flips the famous Spice Girls line into her own version, which gives the song a fun, cheeky edge without being too serious.
The track was co-produced with EliQr64, a beatmaker in Zimbabwe. Even though they didn’t speak the same language fluently, they found a way to connect and build the track based purely on musical energy. That part’s honestly impressive. BEKA handled pretty much everything else herself, from recording and producing to mixing, mastering, and even directing and editing the music video with her wife through their own company, Four Reel.
The video adds an extra layer of fun, especially with the twist ending that caught even the actor off guard. BBC Radio has already shown support, which says a lot. “Wannabe” feels like a true DIY project done right with humor, honesty, and hustle.
