Zachary Mason – “Welcome To My Heart”

Zachary Mason has shifted back toward his acoustic roots after spending two full years exploring the rock world, giving us a remarkably grounded folk collection with “Welcome To My Heart”, this three-track EP centers on quiet reflection, emotional warmth, and simple acoustic songwriting that hits close to home. Living in Guildford in the UK, the 29-year-old artist crafts an inviting atmosphere from the very moment the first song starts to play.

The opening track touches on a deeply personal memory from his past, and it reflects on a period when taking Zoloft dulled his ability to experience Autumn, an autumn season that normally carries rich nostalgic feelings and memories for him. The gentle acoustic arrangements capture that sense of emotional distance without ever becoming overwhelming or overly dramatic.

“I Need Freedom” comes next, carrying a patient sense of melancholy that flows smoothly into the final track, “Me And I”, which happens to be Zachary’s own personal favorite song on the whole project.

The overall sound comes across as crisp and well balanced. Zachary collaborated with David E Beats, a Grammy Nominated Mastering Engineer from America who is based in Toulouse, France. David handled the mastering work and played bass on the second track. Meanwhile, Nate Barnes from Rose Hill Drive played drums on tracks two and three, and John Thomasson from Little Big Town added bass on the final track.

I love this release from start to finish because it comes across as so real, warm, and refreshingly honest. If these three tracks speak to you, I strongly suggest taking the time to explore his previous releases, as his vast library of over two hundred home recordings and singles clearly demonstrates just how creative and expressive he is across acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and keyboards. Zachary Mason is a genuinely talented, hardworking independent artist who puts so much heart into every single piece of music he creates, so please make sure to follow him on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, or visit his website at zacharymasonmusic.com to keep up with all his new releases, updates, and upcoming musical projects throughout the rest of this year!
