Wreckless Strangers – “Dirty Souls”
“Dirty Souls” by Wreckless Strangers has a relaxed confidence to it, like a group of musicians who really enjoy playing together and trust each other to let the songs breathe. Across its six tracks, there is a nice mix of styles that never feels forced, blending rock, Americana, soul, and a bit of funk into something that sounds natural and lived-in. It’s an impressive release that really deserve your attention.
The vocal interplay between Amber Morris and David Noble stands out right away. Their harmonies give the songs a warm, grounded center, especially on tracks like “Dirty Soul” and “The Runaround”. There is a strong sense of personality in the way they trade lines and come together, which makes the whole record feel more personal.
The whole EP flows nicely from start to finish, with each song offering something a little different while still fitting together. It is easy to replay and pick up on new moments each time.
I really enjoyed this one and think it is worth spending time with. Go check out their earlier releases too and follow Wreckless Strangers to see where they go next. Which track ends up sticking with you the most?
