Verticoli – “Silverlinings”

Verticoli just released their new album Silverlinings, and honestly, it’s a solid addition to their growing catalog. This three-piece alternative rock group has been making waves across Australia for years now, and this release shows they’re continuing to develop their sound.

If the single See You Around gives us any clue about the direction they’re headed, we’re in for something good. Tracks like Another One and Make it Your Own deserves your full attention, but the one that stuck in my head is Home. The band talks about the song being focused on looking back at past relationships with gratitude rather than bitterness, which I think is a refreshing take. These guys have put in serious work on the road, sharing stages with bands like Cog, Kingswood, British India, and DZ Deathrays.

Their last album So Far was an acoustic collection that took their best songs and reimagined them in a stripped-down way. That record got played on over 100 radio stations around the world, which shows their songs connect with people beyond just their home base. Now with Silverlinings, they’re coming back with a full album that should build on everything they’ve done while moving their sound forward.

Watching a band tour hard and build a real fanbase over time always makes their releases more satisfying to hear. They’re not some quick success story, they’re a band that’s been grinding it out. Check out their older releases if you haven’t already. Their growth over the years is worth exploring.
