Velvet Sun – “Empire”

I’m completely blown away by the beauty of Velvet Sun’s “Empire”, Ferny Coipel’s co-production at Shack North Studio is among the best sounding records I’ve heard this month. The song is a ride through the psychedelic and the staccato bass lines that are catchy from the first listen. There’s something magical about how the track balances its dreamy, shoegaze textures with post-punk rhythms that feel both nostalgic and completely fresh.
Scott Weinkle’s voice sits nicely on top of the track, reating this beautiful tension between angelic melodies and raw, emotional delivery that’s going to stay with you long after the song ends. You can hear echoes of 90s Britpop in their DNA, but Velvet Sun transforms these influences into something uniquely their own. The way they moves from cosmic melodies to dark and heavy sound in “Empire” is a perfect example of songwriting, this is not something you just listen to in the background, it’s something you have to get lost in.
This track is one of the best indie rock bands from Florida and you should follow Velvet Sun on all their social media platforms, add this track to your playlist and share it with everyone you know because music this good should be heard by everyone.
