THROES NYC – “Fight The Urge (Minimum Risk Remix)”

THROES NYC takes “Fight The Urge (Minimum Risk Remix)” straight into dark, murky territory. The artwork sets that tone before you even hit play, showing a weathered switchboard tangled up in old cords with a bright spark flying right out of the mess. It is a striking visual that fits the raw edge of this track.

Minimum Risk strips away any soft edges and pulls the arrangement into a heavy, shadowy space. The remix trades light textures for a gritty bassline and clattering rhythms that hit hard right away. There is a slow-burn trip-hop tension running through it that grabs hold and holds on.

The vocal floats over the heavy instrumentation with genuine restraint. That delivery feels intimate and vulnerable, making a sharp contrast against the cold, noisy backdrop beneath it. Halfway through, the vocals recede to let static and raw industrial textures take over before the voice comes back with real emotional weight.

The group stays true to their signature altriphop style here, mixing alt-pop, trip-hop, and raw NYC underground grit. It feels cinematic and deeply absorbing. Minimum Risk pulls out the darker feelings of the original work while building something that stands on its own.

I think this remix is an incredible piece of work that shows how bold THROES NYC can be. I love how uncompromising and moody this version turned out.
