The Numb Project – “ISwoon”

Hey guys! Hope your day has been treating you well. Portland’s The Numb Project just released their new single “ISwoon” and it’s a nice change from their usual darker sound. Producer Chris Calarco went a different direction here, and I’m really digging it.

The track starts with this bouncing arpeggio that pulls you in right away. If you know their older stuff, this is going to surprise you because they usually do those dark grooves. “ISwoon” flips that completely with a laid back swing and this hopeful vibe running all the way along. The boom bap beat gives it texture and keeps everything moving smoothly. The choral breakdown is probably my favorite part. It brings in this lush sound that really opens things up. You get a good contrast between that and the more stripped-down elements they normally work with.

This comes after their single “Dream” and their last album “A Space Between,” so they’re clearly keeping busy and putting out new material regularly. If you haven’t heard their older releases, I’d recommend going back and giving those a listen too. Make sure to follow The Numb Project on social media so you don’t miss whatever they put out next this year.
