Sean MacLeod – “I Know Not”
Sean MacLeod’s new single I Know Not, blends a bunch of unexpected influences in a way that actually works and there’s a little bit of 70s punk, some 50s doo-wop, even hints of 60s psychedelia, and somehow it all lands without feeling like a mess. It’s built on solid pop instincts but takes enough risks to keep you guessing.
Sean was in the Dublin band Cisco back in the day, and you can hear the experience in how he puts his ideas together, and the song doesn’t go for easy hooks or familiar patterns. It has structure, but it’s not trying to sound like anything else out right now. That balance between unpredictability and intention is what makes it stand out.
He has two albums lined up for 2026. One is a full-length release, and the other leans into more experimental territory and if this single is any indication, both could be interesting. There’s a sense that he’s following his own direction, not chasing what’s popular, which makes this release feel more grounded.
Trust me, this one’s worth your time. Follow Sean MacLeod on social media to keep up with his new releases in the new year.
