Robert Silvester – “Paris 143”
Robert Silvester is a rising artist from Exeter, England, and his new single ‘Paris 143’ is a great introduction to his downtempo style. He recorded the track at Seabrook Studio, a space in Exeter with a real homely vibe, and that comfortable environment definitely shows up in the overall sound.
The story behind the music is genuinely interesting. Robert got the idea from a photograph of a mysterious woman taken in Paris. He never actually met her, but the image stuck with him and she became a kind of dream girl, a symbol of an idealized connection. The track takes that idea and turns it into a nocturnal search across moonlit boulevards and shadowed streets, following a restless soul looking for someone known only in visions. It plays out like a romantic movie, mixing mystery with hope, asking if she is real or just a dream.
When he created the track, he was in a relaxed, chilled mood with the sun shining, and the whole creative process had a natural flow. A friend told him it was a beautiful song, and listening to it, it is easy to agree. The soft melodies and intimate vocals give the track a genuine sense of love and warmth. It is cinematic, atmospheric, and stays with you long after the final note fades away. It’s one of the best tracks I’ve heard this week.
