Rich Webb & The Liars – “Peace With Bombs (No No No)”

The new single “Peace With Bombs (No No No)” by Rich Webb & The Liars is a great slice of direct, fiery alt-rock. Hailing from Naarm, this four-piece has put together a modern protest song that runs for just over four minutes, and it does not pull any punches. The track takes a straight shot at the ridiculous idea that unleashing explosives on a country can somehow bring about peace. It even nods to Pete Hegseth saying the US negotiates with bombs, pointing out how wild that mindset really is.

What I appreciate about this song is how it keeps things grounded while still packing a real punch. The lyrics start with a pilot flying overhead, then shift the focus to the people in power who sent them there. There is even a cool nod to the classic Edwin Starr tune “War” tucked in. Rich Webb handles the lead vocals and guitar, and he is backed by a stellar lineup including Matt Dixon on lead guitar, Alics Gate-Eastley on bass, and Jim Carden on drums. They also brought in Rich’s sons, Henry and Alfie, to add some fantastic organ and trumpet parts.

The production sounds incredibly clean, thanks to Idge recording the band at Soundpark in Melbourne, with Rich mixing and Brian Lucey mastering the final track. It has a great, raw live energy that makes you want to hear it in a crowded room. Personally, I absolutely love this release. It is easily one of the most honest and engaging things I have heard lately. If you are new to their music, you should definitely check out their previous releases such as “Mess of It” and “Hummingbird (for Brett Whiteley)”.

I highly recommend that you follow Rich Webb & The Liars online to stay updated on what they have coming next. This band is a wonderfully talented group of musicians who genuinely care about the craft, and with a brand new album and a bunch of live shows planned for the rest of 2026, you will definitely want to keep them on your radar to make sure you do not miss anything.
