Rasha Jay – “Purple Hours”

Rasha Jay’s song “Purple Hours” is beautiful, and there’s a natural flow here that feels personal without trying to be too polished or performative. It sounds like someone who knows what they want the moment to feel like, not just how it should sound.
Her collaboration with NONEWLOVERS and guitarist Liza Light adds texture without crowding the track. The guitar outro especially feels like an exhale, unrushed and easygoing in the best way. Rasha’s vocals carry a kind of quiet strength, controlled, warm, and with just the right amount of looseness to feel real. You can picture it playing in the background while you’re driving around with nowhere urgent to be, or while you’re just hanging out in your kitchen, windows open, music up. It’s just a piece of art.
This is a nice pivot from the energy of her earlier release, “SAY,” showing she’s not locked into any one gear. If this is what her summer sounds like, she’s got the season figured out.
