Megapenny Music – “Dance with Giants”

Megapenny Music’s new single “Dance with Giants” is a big shift from what they’ve put out before. Al Young teams up again with French vocalist Delphine Savatte, and together they go for something much larger in scope than either of their last two songs. This one opens with strings and heavy drums that make the whole thing sound like it belongs in a movie. It’s dramatic without feeling forced.

The part that really sticks, though, is Savatte’s voice, and she starts off soft and then builds into something way more intense, and it feels natural. You can hear the emotion without it being overdone. It adds something real to a track that could’ve easily gone too far with the production. It’s also cool to see Al still trying new things after so many years away from releasing music, and he could’ve stuck with something familiar, but he didn’t. That says a lot.
