Martin Lloyd Howard – “Winter’s Light”

Martin Lloyd Howard has released a new single, “Winter’s Light”, written for solo classical guitar. Martin is an English guitarist with classical training who has also explored folk, blues, and rock. Over the years he’s developed a style that mixes discipline with a relaxed touch, and this piece is a good example of that balance.
“Winter’s Light” was written to capture the image of winter sunlight coming through stained glass, with touches of Andalucia and flamenco. When you listen, those influences are clear, the guitar has a bright tone, with changes in dynamics that create a gentle sense of movement. The flamenco flavor is subtle, but it adds extra character and keeps the track engaging.
The performance comes across in a very natural way, it isn’t stiff or overly formal, and you can sense both his classical background and the freedom he’s gained from branching into other genres. It’s a piece that creates atmosphere and invites you to slow down and pay attention to the details.
“Winter’s Light” is available now on SoundCloud and YouTube. Be sure to follow Martin Lloyd Howard on his channels to stay updated on new music he’ll be sharing through the rest of 2025.
