M0n0 jay – “L.L.L. (Lift, Lift, Lick It)”
“L.L.L. (Lift, Lift, Lick It)” by M0n0 jay hits quick and kind of throws you into its world without much warning, It’s built on a club-ready pace, but the details are a little odd in a way that kept me interested. There’s this bright, almost playful melody that keeps looping back, and it rubs up against a heavier bass layer that feels way more grounded. The mix of the two is messy in a good way.
I love the vocal delivery leans into that. It sounds pushed and real, like it belongs inside the motion instead of floating above it. To be honest with you guys, it’s one of the best releases I’ve listened to in the last two weeks. There’s a sense of humor here too. The title already hints at it, but you can hear it in the choices. It’s bold, a little ridiculous, but never annoying about it. It doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be clever, it just is.
I also like that it doesn’t push any kind of “better version of yourself” message. It stays in the moment. Movement for its own sake. That actually made me want to replay it more than I expected.
I ended up liking this quite a bit. It’s a little chaotic, but it works. I’d recommend digging into M0n0 jay’s earlier releases if you’re curious where this came from. Go follow her too, because this feels like the start of something interesting. Would you put this on during a workout, or is it more of a late-night track for you?
