Leopold Nunan – “FELIZ NAVIDAD”

Leopold Nunan just put out his version of “Feliz Navidad”, and it’s got a totally different vibe from every other holiday cover you’ve heard. It was released on December 6, and it’s one of the best track I’ve heard this week so far.

The original song is Puerto Rican, but Leo took it south to Brazil, where Christmas actually means hot weather, beach gatherings, and dancing all night with family. He grew up celebrating the holidays this way, and you can tell he’s not faking it, and the whole thing sounds genuinely Brazilian because it was made by Brazilian musicians. Lucio K produced it, Angelo Metz handled guitars and arrangement, Marcello Moreno played flute, and Julie Morimoto added trumpet. All of them brought their own flavor to it, and the track has this easy, summery energy that puts you right on the beach.

Leo’s story behind this is pretty cool too. He worked retail in LA for years and heard “Feliz Navidad” on repeat every holiday season. He always told himself he’d record his own version someday, and now he actually did it. Follow Leopold Nunan on social media to keep up with new releases in the rest of 2025.
