Lazember – “Don’t Look Back”

Lazember is a project from Co. Donegal, Ireland, founded in 2024 by Paul Rodgers, and the single “Don’t Look Back” is a strong statement of where things stand right now. The project began after Paul met Belgian producer and drummer Ziggy Van Wallendael during a chance meeting in a bar, which eventually led to them working together in Ziggy’s studio in the hills of Donegal. The track was recorded across 2025 while they shaped the direction of a full album.

The song is written about an old bandmate Paul once toured the world with, living that constant cycle of hotel rooms, venues, and late nights until it all became too hectic and the band split. Meeting up again later and seeing that his friend had settled into a different life clearly left an impression. Paul, on the other hand, stayed focused on the music path, and this track reads like a personal reminder to keep moving forward.

At first their writing leaned toward a more acoustic style, inspired by artists like Ben Howard and Hozier, but as they worked together more closely, the sound grew into something bigger and more upbeat, drawing from names like Sam Fender and Kings of Leon. You can hear that shift in the scale of this release.

With a headline show at Whelan’s in Dublin set for March and an album arriving this summer, Lazember is building something steady. Follow them on social media to keep up with everything coming this year.
