King Size – “King Size”

I’m blown away by King Size’s self-titled album. If you like your music to fit somewhere between classic and modern rock, this release certainly hit the right notes. There is no doubt that these guys were brought up with their parents’ Beatles and Who records while growing up on The Strokes, and the result is something that feels both familiar and totally fresh.

“Sick People Are The Most Dangerous People” brings all the punk energy you need for those days when you just want to crank the volume and sing along. The drums hit hard, the vocals have just the right amount of attitude, and the whole thing makes you want to start a mosh pit in your living room. Our close readers know how much we appreciate this type of music on Beach House.

Then they switch gears completely with “Million Stairs”, proving their abilities go beyond just the high-energy stuff. This country-influenced ballad allows you to breathe while still keeping you fully engaged. If you’re looking for an album that honors rock but sounds fresh, King Size is just what you need to refresh your tired playlists. It reminds listeners why they prefer guitar music in the first place.

This album has been in my head since I heard it a couple of weeks back and for me it’s one of those rare releases that gets better with each listen, so make sure to follow King Size on all their social media platforms to stay updated on their upcoming shows.
