Ken Woods and The Old Blue Gang – “Ride the Rails”

Hey guys, new day new music! I’m completely knocked out by ‘Ride the Rails’, the debut track from Ken Woods and The Old Blue Gang is just impressive and desrve your full attention.

This track drives forward with an unstoppable train-beat rhythm that perfectly mirrors its historical narrative about the shameful 1893 expulsion of Chinese residents from La Grande, Oregon.  You’ll feel the urgency in every note as the relentless bass riff and ticktack guitars create a sonic landscape of chaos and drama. It’s of of those track that easly can stick in your head.

The guitar solos are the most outstanding in this song, two searing, virtuosic performances that manage to be technically impressive while maintaining raw emotional power. The country, psychobilly and roots rock elements are present but do not overpower the band’s sound.

This is just the first taste of their upcoming concept album “Silent Spike” which is set to be released on July 4th, 2025, which tells the untold story of the “Railroad Chinese” who worked on the construction of the American transcontinental railroads only to be discriminated against. Make sure to follow Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang on social media right now and listen to “Ride the Rails” before everyone else does.
