Kallai – “The Wave”

Portland-based band has just shared with us their latest single, titled “The Wave”, giving us a first hint of their upcoming debut LP, “We Are Forever”. Known for their alt-rock and shoegaze blend, Kallai has been steadily making a name for themselves since 2024 with tracks like “Always/Never” and “Palisades”, which landed them on KEXP’s Best of PNW list. “The Wave” is an intense, layered track that digs into themes of rage and transformation. The guitars crash and swirl, the rhythm section pushes hard, and the stunning and strong vocals float over everything with an almost otherworldly quality that keeps you hooked. Powerful and rich, are two words to describe the track.

Recorded partly at Revolver Studios with Collin Hegna and partly in their own Synthetikit Studio, “The Wave” shows a band that’s experimenting confidently while keeping their identity intact. With its release, anticipation for We Are Forever is only growing.
