Hyporadar – “This Ain’t The Day I Die”

I’m impressed with how ‘This Ain’t The Day I Die’ by Hyporadar is so professionally produced and recorded that each and every beat of that bass line can be heard clearly.
The track perfectly captures what Shane Duquette calls “low rock” – a bass-centric approach that doesn’t rely on electric guitars but still hits you with a powerful groove. The first thing that you will probably hear is the rather hazy vocals that hover between spoken word and singing, clearly influenced by Morphine’s Mark Sandman and CAKE’s John McCrea, creating an intimate listening experience that feels like the artist is speaking directly to you.
What makes this song stand out is how it manages to be both minimalist and complex at the same time. The catchy bass line is quite deceptive and gets stuck in your head while the rhythm section makes you bob your head. You might find yourself hitting repeat before you even know it.
I highly recommend following Hyporadar on social media to see what I’m sure will be a steady stream of new music from this artist for the rest of 2025.
