heavyskint – “He Says, She Says”

I’ve been listening to heavyskint a lot in the past couple of days, they have 2 songs that sedevre your attention, and their new single “He Says, She Says” is a massive step forward for them. If you haven’t caught wind of this Glasgow crew yet, they formed in 2024 and completely blew up their local scene over the last year, selling out every single live show they played at spots like King Tuts and QMU.

This new track takes their usual high intensity and pushes it into a much darker, darker territory. The whole thing was actually inspired by late-night true crime stories and found-footage horror films. You can feel that unsettling energy right away. It has this gritty, sleazy vibe that completely hooks you. Frontman Jacob Hunter wrote the lyrics after getting stuck in an internet rabbit hole about serial killers, and the band builds a perfect, moody atmosphere around that idea without overdoing it.

The guitars are noisy and the chorus is huge, blending a cool 90s rock edge with a spacious sound reminiscent of vintage Pink Floyd. It sounds like a band that completely knows who they are and what they want to do. They are easily one of the most exciting new acts coming up right now.
