Dryadic – “Redevelop Our Souls”

Dryadic’s new single “Redevelop Our Souls” has been a long time coming, and if you’ve caught one of their live sets in the past few years, chances are you’ve heard this one. It’s been a crowd favorite for almost a decade, now that it’s finally been recorded, it hasn’t lost any of the fire that made it so powerful on stage. It’s safe to name Dryadic as my favorite band of the week.

The song is built on a gritty folk-rock sound with a strong fiddle hook and pounding drums. It’s catchy and energetic in all the right ways, the kind of track that gets people moving, singing, and feeling like they’re part of something, but it’s not just about the energy.

Zora, the lead singer, wrote it while living in council housing, and you can tell it comes from a real place. She even gave her place back when she moved onto a boat so someone else in need could have it. That kind of lived experience adds a lot to what this song stands for.

If you’re into music with purpose and grit, “Redevelop Our Souls” is worth a listen. Follow Dryadic on social media to stay in the loop on new music later this year.
