Consequential – “Dark Sky”
Consequential is an electronic music producer from Bury St. Edmunds, England, and his new track “Dark Sky” was released this month. This atmospheric drum and bass number was born from late-night studio sessions and a lot of staring up at the stars, and you can tell.
The track digs into mental health struggles in a way that feels real. The vocals showed up during the production process and matched the mood perfectly. Consequential is talking about fighting off negative thoughts and actually dealing with them, which is something plenty of us can relate to. It doesn’t feel forced or like he’s trying too hard to be meaningful.
Consequential recorded everything using Studio One, with Pigments as his main tool and some Dawesome instruments thrown in. If you listen closely on decent headphones or speakers, you’ll pick up on little details in the mix that most people will miss on their phone speakers.
Consequential recently had a mix featured on BBC Introducing, so he’s clearly gaining traction in the scene. If you dig “Dark Sky”, go back and listen to his other releases to hear how he’s been evolving. Make sure to follow Consequential on social media so you don’t miss his next releases.
