Charlie Diamond – “That Diamond Dream”

Charlie Diamond returns with his single “That Diamond Dream”, the lead release from his upcoming album The Outlaw Sagas of Charlie Diamond – Famous in Death, Unknown in Life. The Hartford artist has always moved on his own terms, and this track makes that clear right away. After a difficult stretch in 2025, he went back on the road to reset his head and came out of it with a song that pushes forward with grit and belief.

Recorded in a cabin in the woods at On Deck Sound Studio with producer Tracy Walton, the track was captured live in one take. You can hear the difference when a full band plays together in the same room, reacting to each other in real time. Twangy, vibrato-laced guitars lock in with a ropy bassline, drum flourishes, and offbeat handclaps that nod to hillbilly boogie and Sun Records rockabilly without sounding stuck in another decade.

Charlie has long existed outside the usual folk and country circles, and that outsider stance gives this release its backbone. There is defiance here, but also hunger and purpose, which makes the whole thing land with conviction.

Take some time to dig into Charlie Diamond’s other releases if this one grabs you. And make sure you follow him on social media to keep up with what he does next. He continues building his path without waiting for permission from anyone watching.
