Arcane Arcade – “Summer Funerals”

Arcane Arcade’s “Summer Funerals” will transport you to their world and make you enjoy original and rich music. They’ve been steadily building with their earlier EPs, but this record really captures what they’re about. It’s 14 tracks of melodic punk with just enough twang to set it apart, recorded down in Tampa with Bob Noxious. You can feel the mix of influences they’ve absorbed over the years from the raw punch of 90s punk to the dusty, country-leaning vibes that sneak in on a few tracks.
My personal favorite is “Flowers”, it’s the perfect opener, sharp, energizing, and just defiant enough to pull you in right away, slightly worn-in songs like “Other Side of the Dirt” and the title track. Another track that grabbed my attention and I kept playing, titled “Failure (Is The Easy Way)”. It’s safe to say it’s the best release I’ve listened to today.
If you’ve been craving punk that still surprises you, “Summer Funerals” is worth a listen. Give it a spin, and keep an eye on Arcane Arcade’s socials, they’ve hinted at more for the rest of 2025, and I’d bet they’re just getting started.
