Allan Jamisen – “The Coalition”
Allan Jamisen’s new single “The Coalition” grabbed my attention from the first second. It’s direct, heavy, and clearly built around something bigger than just a sound, and you will love the message behind the song.
The way this came together is part of what makes it cool. Jamisen responded to a free studio offer from a new engineer in Phoenix and started building the track from rough, lo-fi recordings using whatever gear they had, including a Casio CK-1. Once the base was there, he finished it in LA with John X Volaitis, who’s worked with artists like Bonnie Raitt and The Rolling Stones. That final polish adds some real punch without taking away the raw feel.
There’s a lot of contrast happening in the production, and it really adds to the mood, and the layers shift in and out, keeping the track moving without ever losing focus. It sounds tight, but you can still hear the edge in it.
If you haven’t spent time with his other songs like “Rock & Roll American” or “Gotta Do,” they’re worth checking out. Follow Allan Jamisen on social media to stay in the loop on what he’s doing next.
