Adam Wedd – “STEAMTRAIN”

London singer-songwriter Adam Wedd has an interesting history in the industry. He spent years working behind the bar at Abbey Road and Metropolis Studios, serving drinks to famous musicians before stepping away to focus on touring and making his own music full-time. His single STEAMTRAIN gives us a great preview of his upcoming debut album, Hangover full of memories, arriving on September 25th.

He recorded the project between his tiny home studio and Unit 13 alongside producers Paul Tipler (Placebo, Stereolab) and Marek Deml (Sam Smith, McFly), before getting everything mastered by Tom Hall at Abbey Road. Some tracks were written over six years ago while others were finished recently. The sound mixes folk, rock, punk, gospel, pop, and quiet piano moments, tackling personal subjects like heartbreak, politics, regret, and grieving lost friends. He even stopped a fight on the final day of mixing, which fits the raw energy of this whole effort.

His release strategy is especially bold. He refuses to put the new album on streaming platforms until he sells 1,000 physical copies on CD and vinyl, aiming to keep independent music sustainable in 2026. He also has an album launch show planned for September 24th at Iron Maiden’s birthplace in London.
