Wilhelm – “Wake Me in the Sunrise”
I’m in love with Wilhelm’s new album “Wake Me in the Sunrise”. It is like discovering a gem in the ocean of songs that are available for listening. Wilhelm, the talented artist from Moline, gives us a beautiful lo-fi folk album that is personal and haunting. Recorded with just an acoustic guitar, voice, and a 4-track Tascam, each of the nine songs is a stripped-down, intimate experience that is hard to come by in today’s music.
From the first track ‘Midnight Caller on the Moon’ to the last track ‘Hold Your Head Now, Baby’, this album is a masterclass in minimalist production and heartfelt songwriting. I encourage you to dive into this musical landscape of memories and feelings. Check out Wilhelm on Instagram and Facebook and make sure to add the songs to your Spotify playlist, it’s worth listening to multiple times.
