Pray Silence – “Liminalland”

Edinburgh rock band PRAY SILENCE put out their third single, “Liminalland”, following earlier tracks “DRAGON OF CHAOS” and “KILL ROOM”. The group is built on a collaboration between Edinburgh singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist MARKY WILDTYPE and singer, songwriter, and multidisciplinary artist SAM SIGGS. Both of them realized they had set aside their interest in heavy music for too long, so they spent several years slowly assembling PRAY SILENCE before bringing the project to light. From the vocals to the writing style, “Liminalland” is one of the best releases I’ve discovered in the past couple of days.

“Liminalland” pairs heavy guitar riffs with big, anthemic choruses and sharp, sardonic lyrics. The track relies on driving, detailed rock songwriting designed to hit right in the gut, heart, and brain. Nothing about it feels half-baked; the song plays like a heavy force that took its time gathering power before making its arrival in Edinburgh. If you listen to bands like Biffy Clyro, Fightstar, Jamie Lenman, Arcane Roots, or Black Peaks, this single hits the mark.

Rehearsals are underway for their first live show, which will be announced soon. Be sure to follow PRAY SILENCE on social media to stay updated on their live dates and new releases this year.
