Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends – “Bells of Silver”
Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends is a solo project by a musician who previously played guitar and sang in the Swedish band Redmoon. The project has been releasing music since 2021, and “Bells of Silver” is one of the songs from an upcoming full-length album tentatively titled The King and the Sparrow, expected out this month.
The song started life as “Vagnar av guld”, a Swedish-language version released earlier this year. The artist rewrote the lyrics in English rather than doing a straight translation, and honestly that decision pays off. The English version has its own footing.
“Bells of Silver” is written as a kind of ode to his children and grandchildren, with moments from his own childhood woven in. That personal angle comes through in how the song sits with you after it ends. It’s not a grand statement about anything. And what’s male the song hit hard are the stunning and beautiful vocals. The drums from Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck are lively without being showy. They give the song a pulse that feels lived-in rather than clinical.
If you’re not already following Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends on social media, this is a good year to start. The full album is coming and this single is a solid preview of what’s ahead.
