Omega Train – “You Were There”
Omega Train’s album “You Were There” is a record that shows a band with a long history still putting real heart into their music. Omega Train comes out of New Jersey, with vocalist Darren Johnson and guitarist Mark Fahad at the center of the project. The band has been around since the early 1990s when the two first started working together, and that long connection between them gives the album a strong sense of identity. My favorite track is “Hero (Save The Day)”.
“You Were There” brings together eight songs that move between different rock styles while staying rooted in the band’s gritty alt-metal and indie rock background. The record touches on ideas about joy, pain, loss, and redemption, and those moments give the album a human side that makes the songs easy to connect with. Another thing that stands out is how much history sits behind this release. The album pulls from experiences that stretch across many years, which gives the songs a sense of reflection without losing their raw rock energy.
The band also brings in a lineup of guest musicians for the album, adding extra personality to the record while keeping the spirit of Omega Train very much intact. Listening from the first track to the last, the album comes across as a band staying true to the sound they have built over time while still sounding energized and motivated to keep making music.
Give “You Were There” a listen and follow Omega Train on social media to keep up with their upcoming releases.
