Ravenistic – “Cocktail Hour”
Ravenistic’s Cocktail Hour is a four-track EP that pulls from 80s and 90s rock/pop and turns it into something personal and easy to connect with, and I like how a few tracks begin in a softer space before building into bigger, louder sections that really land without feeling overdone.
“Sugar Baby” looks back at a relationship that’s clearly been outgrown, while “Memory Lane” settles into nostalgia and doesn’t seem in a hurry to leave it behind. “With Somebody Else” digs into tension and the pull toward wanting something different, and “The Perfect Thing” closes things out with a sense of resolution after all the ups and downs.
