Matt Saxton – “Feel It Again”
UK-based artist Matt Saxton released his rock/folk album Feel It Again on November 21st, 2025, and if you’re looking for music that sounds like real life instead of a songwriter trying to sell you a fantasy, this album is worth your time.
The album opens with the title track Feel It Again, and right away, you can tell this isn’t your typical love song. Saxton wrote this twenty-five years after the photograph on the album cover was taken, a picture of him and his soon-to-be wife when they were young and just getting started. Now, all these years later with everything they’ve been through, he’s writing about rekindled love, renewal, and rebirth. You can hear the experience in it.
Take It or Leave It has a line that really gets you: “In the photograph we look so young, time was on our side and the story just begun.” We’ve all looked at old photos and felt that exact thing. Rough Patch and Better Days keep going with the same honest approach to relationships, the messy, real stuff that most songwriters skip over. Rough Patch came out as a single before the album, and people really connected with it. Broken Colour kept it on repeat all morning and said it belongs in everyone’s playlist whether you’re in a relationship or just trying to get through the day. The Big Take Over called out how rare it is to hear someone write from actual experience instead of just rehashing the same breakup clichés. Obscure Sound pointed out the melodic piano and warming organs that give the song its backbone.
The album wraps up with You and I, which Saxton describes as a simple reflection on how nothing lasts forever. After everything the album covers, ending there just makes sense.
