Martin Lloyd Howard – “Unanswered”
I just discovered “Unanswered”, the latest solo guitar piece by Martin Lloyd Howard, and I thought it was really well done. It’s slow, a bit introspective, and it has this gentle way of pulling you into its mood without needing to be dramatic or over-the-top. The way the melody sits with the chords gives off this quiet tension, which will stick in your soul.
The sound itself is super clean and clear, it makes the whole thing feel kind of personal, like you’re sitting right there in the room while it’s being played, and nothing feels forced or over-produced, which I liked. Martin’s background in classical guitar definitely comes through, but this doesn’t feel stiff or overly traditional. It’s got its own personality. If you haven’t listened to his other work yet, I’d suggest checking out more of his solo and group guitar pieces too, there’s a lot to dig into. And it’s one of the best pieces I’ve heard this week.
Listen to “Unanswered” and thank me later. And be sure to follow Martin Lloyd Howard on social media so you know when something new comes out.
